Crary® Bear Cat®’s Stump Grinders feature a strong, 10-gauge steel body and eight strategically positioned carbide Greenteeth® on the industry class’ thickest rotor. The Stump Grinder family bodies are designed for easy-access belt inspection and service and have operator-friendly controls.

A 390cc Honda engine with a cyclonic air filter system powers this Stump Grinder, allowing you to remove stumps quickly and easily in your own yard or for your commercial landscape business.

Boasting the thickest in its class – 14″ diameter rotor, complete with 8 Carbide Greenteeth®, the SGPRO provides an 11″ above ground cut and a 5″ below ground cut.

The streamlined 28″ overall design width, 13″ pneumatic tires, and easy-to-reach controls makes this unit a breeze to fit into any size yard. A fully collapsible, 5-position ergonomic handlebar means it is comfortable to operate and easy to store. Comes with Noram clutch.

How long do cutting teeth last?

Stump grinder teeth have 3 cutting surfaces and can be indexed twice prior to sharpening or replacing. Depending on the type, age, and cleanliness of the area surrounding the stump, Stump Grinder teeth will work well for 5-15 hours before needing to be indexed. Rocks, sand, and other foreign debris in and around the stump can reduce the life of the teeth. Teeth kits that are better suited for rocky, sandy, and clay soils are available. See Accessories.

Which model is right for me?

All three models of stump grinders have staggered teeth and optimized power to the rotor that allow for efficient chip removal. The main difference in the three models is the size of the engine which directly relates to how quickly you can remove a stump.

SGACE | Weekend warrior: Backyard and homeowner use

SGXTR | Land owner: Farmsteads and small acreage use. The SGXTR is 60% more productive than our SGACE.

SGPRO | Business owner: Commercial use for part-time stump removal projects. The SGPRO is 38% more productive than our SGXTR.

Will it fit through my: gate/garage(pedestrian) door/etc.?

All three models of stump grinders are less than 30” wide and will fit through most standard door or gate openings.

Do I need a trailer to transport it?

The weights of the stump grinders range from 180 – 250 pounds. With the folding handle bar the stump grinders can fit in an SUV, truck box, or hauled on a trailer.
