With the reliable Crary® Bear Cat® CH5627 Chipper, taking care of tree limbs and prunings is quick and simple. Tree services and landscaping companies use the CH5627 Chipper for jobsite cleanup, power line clearing and easement cleaning. With the road towable hitch, the CH5627 has “go anywhere” usability. 2″ coupler standard.

The CH5627 Chipper is built with a double-banded belt drive that ensures equal transfer of power from the engine to the chipper blade, increasing the disc speed allowing the operator to chip more material at a faster pace.

The CH5627 model is designed with a range of features and options that include; flip-up jack stand that ensures machine balance during machine operation, highway towable mobility allowing this chipper to be transported to a number of worksites easily and a rotating discharge chute, letting the operator choose the direction of the discharge materials.

How difficult is it to perform maintenance on the machine?

Crary® Bear Cat® products are designed with ease of maintenance in mind. Proper maintenance is vital and should be performed routinely with blades, belts and bearings being most important.

How long will the chipper blades last?

Depending on the type of wood, age and cleanliness, chipper blades will work well for between 5-15 hours. Dry, dirty wood will dull the blades faster. Alternate dry and wet material to extend blade life. Hydraulic feed machines will have longer blade life.

What are these Chippers designed for?

The Crary® Bear Cat® Chipper is designed to effectively reduce the volume of wood, branches, and other organic material. The typical application for this product group is anywhere from light to commercial to municipalities, and/ or rental.

What is the maximum size of material will these machines chip?

A Crary® Bear Cat® 9” Chipper will chip up to 9“ diameter material.

What type of Chippers are available?

Crary® Bear Cat® makes Chippers with gravity or hydraulic feed, powered by an engine package or a tractor PTO. A hydraulic feed machine has a hydraulic driven feed roller to efficiently feed branches to the chipper disc.

When should I buy a gravity feed machine?

If you have an infrequent need for a Chipper and time is not a factor, a gravity feed machine will fit your needs.

When should I buy a hydraulic feed machine?

If time or efficiency is an issue, a hydraulic feed Chipper allows you to be more productive.

When should I chip?

If you don’t plan on composting the material, material is green and stringy or larger than 3/4″ in diameter.
