Electric seeding shaft drive for reliable, variable seed metering

The Saphir 8 mechanical seed drill is distinct from the Saphir 7 in that it features an electric seeding shaft drive with electronic speed control.

  • The electric seeding shaft drive allows a wide range of different seeds to be precisely metered at seeding rates from 0.5 to 500 kg/ha. Seeding rates can be quickly and easily set through a single calibration process.
  • The electric motor and job computer are located well protected at the front of the seed drill. The implement is operated comfortably from the tractor cabin via the display of the Solitronic electronic control unit. The seeding rate can, for example, be easily adjusted while driving by simply pressing a button.
  • The Solitronic unit controls the motor of the electrically driven seeding shaft. It monitors the remaining seed volume and seeding shaft, displays the speed of travel and continuously registers the electronically determined hectare performance. An integrated diagnostics system for troubleshooting, ISOBUS compatibility and DGPS capability also form part of the standard equipment.
  • The Saphir 8 features an impulse wheel instead of a spike wheel. Since no drive torque needs to be transferred, the distance and speed travelled are precisely recorded.
  • In the mounted version, the Saphir 8 is placed directly on top of the roller of the soil cultivation implement. The Saphir 8 AutoLoad version can be either coupled to the tractor via the three-point linkage or combined with seedbed preparation implements.
